Yeah info on WUSTL would be helpful to me too, I just got waitlisted there as well.

this is why i think colleges should give students a number which shows their position on the waiting line. students can then look at past yield records and get some idea on if they will get a spot or not, making it easier for both the student and the school to make final attendance decisions.

Hey BamaSlidr28, do you know if we are contracted to enroll in the university if our names are selected from the waitlist?

I'm just wondering..I'm not sure if this happened to anyone else. A while back, after my counselor mailed all the mid-year report, I checked the application status at the Washington Uni. site and it showed that they received my 7th semester transcript. However, when I checked it again today, it showed that I did not mail one in. Could this be the reason they waitlist me?

It's pretty low!!!! i got waitlisted last year, along with other like 5000000 other students. I don't know how is it this year, but last year, they seemed to have waitlisted everyone who applied

WUSL has an overactive marketing department!! They are constantly sending you mail and e-mail to make it look like they really really want you. I think it's hogwash! They just want their admit rate to look really low with sooooo many applications. My son was waitlisted in 2001 and they said on their letter that it was a record that they had received 21,000 applications for 1200 positions. We soured on that school after that whole experience.

lol Peacemaker. How is WUSTL anyways in a ranking?

WUSTL is ranked 11th just behind Dartmouth in the USNWR 2006 ahead of ivys such as Cornell and Brown. Don't get me wrong, I have heard it is a fabulous school. A friend of mine did the travels to visit all kinds of schools last summer and came back saying that WUSTL is the absolute best in terms of its campus and resources. I saw it in the fall when I was there for a funeral (just drove through)and there was a lot of construction going on which I guess is a good sign cause it shows they are putting $$ into facilities (even though it already looks good). It seems to be in a very nice part of St. Louis. It kind of irks me though that they send out a lot of mail which makes everyone feel like the school wants them. This to me is dishonest and misrepresentative. The son of my friend who did the cross country college visits applied there and got wait-listed! Surprise! He got into and is attending Cornell University and is very happy with their engineering program.

WUSTL, ur chances set a new record. Fist time when odds can be in the negative...
