I have been told that I have a good shot- just want to get some more input from you all. Thanks a lot

slight reach imo

Wow, some of those scores look pretty familiar (AP, all the same, with a few more). If you can emphasize your passion for volunteer work in your essays, you might have a shot. Are you planning to retake your SATS? Boosting to at least a 2000 is always good. But it’s your decision. It really depends on where you want to go. If you’re thinking Ivy, I’d say your essays better be phenomenal, but out of state public schools might not be a reach.

Are UCs totally out of the question?

I’m actually a California resident and I am applying to all the UCs except Merced and Riverside- however, the only UC I truly want to go to is Berkeley (a big reach). I’ve taken the SAT four times, though I sent my scores in after the third time. If I break 2,000 on the october 6th test, I will send those scores in as well.

I think you are a reach just because GPA and SAT are below avg., and you’re OOS, but you could just as well be in, depending on the essays. Why did you take the SAT so many times though?

I really wanted to break 2000.

oh, ok. good luck on your recent scores then!

Slight reach but not a long shot. Definitely apply.
