A little bit early but I was just curious how I am doing so far and know what I can do this year to improve my chances.

Your ECs are solid, but your GPA and SAT are weak by OOS standards. Try and get your unweighted GPA up to a 3.85+, and your weighted above a 4.0. Next, SATs should be around a 2050 at least (true, there are special cases where kids with lower scores get in, but most OOS students admitted are a 2100 or above). Also, continue to challenge yourself through APs. Hope that helped, and best of luck!

You’ll probably need better SAT scores in math to get in oos. 48 PSAT is about 480 SAT, and that’s weak even instate.

You could try the ACT, but that’s more geared toward math/science students…which it doesn’t look like you are.

That published essay is intriguing. Just try and keep your grades up, study for the SATs, and hope for the best. Don’t spend this year worrying about college, though. Enjoy high school.

That published essay will be the highlight of you app. Get some leadership positions in your ECs. And your SAT’s are really hurting. But you’ve still got time
