I'm an out of state student, and my parents are both Graduates of UB. UB is my top choice, and I applied regular but in November. Here's my credentials:
GPA: 3.0 (84)
SAT Math: 610
SAT Verbal: 570
SAT 1600: 1180

VERY strong extra curriculars.

I'm really nervous because UB is my dream school and is obviously my top. Also, UB is only 6% Out of state, and I'm not sure if this would hurt me or help me.

I’m also out of state and I’ve asked this question during the UB chat. They said that being an out of state student won’t affect admission. So you don’t need to worry about that.

UB is also my number one choice! Good luck and hope you get in! :)

SUNY likes OOS! One of the main reasons that OOS tuition is comparatively low is the belief that OOS students will like NYS and want to stay…we need you!

thanks for the replies!! And I applied Undecided.

I was really dissapointed today because I found out one of my top schools that I was accepted to, University of Rhode Island, is much more money than I expected.

And the common app asks where my parents and siblings went to school, So i’m guessing UB will see that, but doubt legacy status will count for anything. I’m just worried about my GPA really, because I have no honors or APs and its a 3.0
