ADVICE WOULD be Great!

I think your stats look very good and definitely competitive. Just remember that every school in every town, city, state--across the nation has really bright kids. So, you need to be distinct. Some people refer to it as a "hook". What is your hook? Most strong kids have the NHS and AP scholar stuff....and such. Take it a step beyond, and convey why you are so special in your application.
Write unique and superior essays and I'd say that you have a real good chance of gaining admission.

Apparently, SAT II's aren't required for UVa after the Writing Section was added to the New SAT.

IMO, you are definitely a competitive candidate. Your SAT is good as well as your AP history. I say match.

you look exactly like the average applicant to U Virginia, maybe a little better. I'd say your chances are slightly better than the admit rate. Your SAT's are pretty decent, and you have ECs but they're not anything special. I think you can be labeled as admittable, but we'll just have to see how many other people are better.

Ouch! But I have to agree with JohnC613. UVA is very competitive, particularly for OOS students. You have good stats, but I think UVA might be a reach for you--ever-so-slightly. Time will tell. Though, on the other hand, you've done very well taking 12 AP's>>>that shows a lot of courage, and you have proof that you can handle it well. It's a coin toss. Good luck to you. Do fabulously on your essays. As you probably know, essays are so important at UVA. Good luck.

thanks for the advice guys...

this is kind of a random question, but are there any schools (anywhere in the country) that i look like an excellent fit for?
Im thinking about majoring in poli-sci

The only way you can determine what schools you'd like to go to is to visit them. Every top school will be excellent for UG political science.

I'm sure there are lots of places that you'd fit in at. You are a very serious contender, no matter where you apply.
Question is: where do you want to go? I don't know where you live, but if you are interested in poli-sci., then UVA is a great choice. It has a great reputation for political sciences and history (among other fields). CVL is so close to DC and with the upcoming Presidential election, I'm sure that the political pulse will be palpable in CVL!
Georgetown or GWU would be on that list too. Or, American University. But I think you are too good for GWU or American. (I'm gonna suffer serious repercussions with that remark)! Georgetown is nice, from what I hear, but I did not apply there last year, so I don't know a lot about it>>wasn't into a city sort of feel. But I'm sure it's very good and judging from your stats, I bet you could go there if you want to.
I think that you are a pretty good match with UVA. Final note: it depends, sort of, on where you live or want to live. If you are on the west coast, a lot of what I wrote doesn't matter.
If you want to be in the south, then consider (in addition to above): Davidson, Wake, possibly UNC-CH, possibly Duke.
Out of left field, I would recommend that you apply to Cornell. Check them out.

With your love of ice hockey, I would suggest looking at schools that have both great poli sci programs and lots of opportunity to play hockey. Only you know your chances to make the hockey team, but lots of schools have tiers of teams. You have worked hard; go to a place that offers the total package for you.

A couple of schools that spring to mind are BC,(any school in Boston area) U Miami (in Ohio where you might get money) University of Michigan. Dartmouth folks are hockey hounds. Carnegie Mellon might, they love hockey.
Cornell might have a nice program. McGill in Canada is obviously huge when it comes to hockey. U Toronto has tons of ice, but that might be beneath you academically.

Gtwn and GW are not hockey schools, very hard (and expensive) to get a sheet of ice around there. Obviously the further south you go the harder it would be to find ice.

Best of luck to you.
