Chances & Options

I'd like to hear my chances for my higher-end picks:

Cornell, CMU, Georgia Tech, Cooper Union, Harvey Mudd, UT Austin, University of Southern California

Also, could I have advice for some backup/economical schools for undergrad?
Right now I have: NC State and New Mexico Tech

Major Choice: Computer Engineering or Computer Science

I don't have state residency for tuition purposes.
(I live overseas but am a US Citizen) There is no cheap 10k/year tuition option for me.

I'd like to hear about other options for engineering schools. I was considering University of Washington.

Stats:

ACT Super Scored (only taken ACT):
28 English
30 Reading
34 Math
34 Science

27 Writing+English

I'm taking the SAT IIs (day after tomorrow actually)
Hopefully roughly 780 on Math II/Physics

Got a 5 on Physics B if that helps at all.

Class Rank: 2/165
GPA: 4.167 weighted

Current AP Classes:
AP Physics C Mechanics
AP Calc BC
AP Lit
AP US Gov
AP Stats

Prior:
APUSH - 5
AP Lang -3
AP Physics B - 5
AP Chem - 4
AP Biology - 4

Leadership:
Eagle Scout
AVID Student Tutor
Senior Patrol Leader
Mu Alpha Theta President
Physics Club Vice President

Other:
Fluent in Java, Python

while(1==1) {
print("Thanks :)")
}

I have no idea whether or not you have a good chance of getting into any of those schools.

Indeed.
I hope my lower English scores don’t become my downfall.

For Georgia Tech and UT I’m pretty sure you’re set
Cornell, Harvey Mudd and USC might be a little bit more of a challenge but I think USC might be a good match

Georgia Tech: Match
UT: Match
Cornell: Reach
Harvey mudd: Low reach
USC: High Match

Chance me back , please?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1571304-chance-me-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Cornell: Reach
CMU: Slight Reach
G Tech: Match
UT: Match
USC: Match

I feel that CMU is a bit harder than Cornell. Any other opinions?

Many schools you listed are strong in computer engineering.

If you write essays that demonstrate your passion in computer engineering (all that work with Assembly/ if have reversed engineered anything), I think you will have a decent shot at most of the schools including CMU. But then again, admissions are very random.

RIT, Union, RPI, WPI, Northeastern

You should probably take the SAT I before it’s too late, looking at your ACT scores it’ll only serve to bolster your chances.

Gtech and USC you should be in, cornell and CMU are reaches (CMU compsci has a 7% acceptance rate). If you can get a good sat score and good subject test scores your chances would be better, but you look like a good applicant for all of those!
