Chances! (Panicking on inside after SSAT)

I'm applying to Exeter and only Exeter as a freshman for next year.

I have been swimming for 8 years.
I have made top 16 in state for swimming almost every year.
I have been in student council since 6th grade.
I'm now treasurer for student council.
I have played french horn for 3 years. First chair. Varsity band.
I believe the interview was okay.... he said i had nice humor.
My essays are okay too... not tooooo positive about them
I don't go to a very good middle school but I am ranked 1 out of 502 people in my grade
I skipped 2nd grade. (If that even helps.)
I have all accelerated classes and Algebra I Honors.
I have a 4.0 GPA.
I'm fluent in Chinese.
I've been in NJHS for 2 years.
My reconmmendations should help me a bit.
Then there's my SSAT:
Verbal 692 (72%)
Math 698 (67%)
Reading 695 (79%)
Total: 2085
What are my chances?
There are probably others things i've done that are slipping my mind because I'm panicking.

Your stats are really good, but honestly that SSAT could bring you down. Although, many schools take into cosideration everything and because of your great awards from swimming and your ECs you would probably make it in but that’s just what I think.

I like the look. So, the SSATs are a bit weak, but the rest looks good and well rounded. Plus, you have a nice attitude that comes across even in your one post. I’m bullish on your chances.

Last year I only applied to Exeter. My stats were as good as yours and so were my grades, but just like u my SSAT wasn’t good, but mine was a little better than yours (around 70 in reading and verbal, 94 in math). Long story short, I got wait listed, so you’re on the fence, it’s a really hard school to get into

Thanks. I 'm really stressed out right now. I could take the test in January but I would have to drive 4 hours to California and take it. I know I need to step it up but I wished that I would never have to do a practice test again.

I am really scared too! I am applying to Andover and Exeter! I am a girl, and I have been playing soccer for 11 years, I am on the top team from my age group, and I made the Olympic Development Team last year. I participated in student council in 6th and 7th grade. I am in Choir, and Select Choir, and I have been for two years. I am a defintie people person (so I think I can ace the interviews although I have not had them yet), I live in Iowa, I believe my essays are superb, I go to a decent school, but we do not have a ranking system set up, I know my reccomendations are all very good,I am also in Algebra 1, however my schools doesnt offer any accelerated classes besides math, I have a 4.0 GPA, I am excellent in Spanish, I have been idenified as Gifted and Talent , and I participated in the ELP ( Extended Learning Program for the Gifted and Talented) since second grade, I spend 4 hours a week at church, I play soccer, volleyball and run track, I do at least 3 project a year ( i have done 5 so far this year), I have a job as a soccer referee during the spring and fall seasons, I am in seminar (which is a leadership class for the gifted and talented at my school and requires a high score on the ITBS), I intended a summer enrichment program last summer (which also required a high ITBS score), I am inleadership class at my school right now, I was selected to participate in a Global Issues Confrence based on a persuasive essay I wrote, In the past I submited two of my poems for publication, and they both were published, and in the past I was nominated for the following : National Young Leaders Confrence, National Young Scholars, and National Young State Confrence.
These are my SSAT Scores:
Verbal- 731 (88%)
Math- 704 (70%)
Reading-701 (83%)
Total- 2136 (84%)
I really want to go to Andover or Exeter, do I have good chances of getting in?!

andoverexeter24, i think you have a great chance. You said you have a 4.0 so I’m assuming you have an A in Algebra 1. Not to put you down or anything but how did you get a 700 on the math section of the SSAT? Last year (8th grade) I was in Algebra 1 and I got an 800. I mean it’s all lower level than algebra 1, there might be 1 or 2 problems that relate to algebra 1. But sorry yea you have a great chance

Haha I was thinking the exact same thing, I did not understand how I got so low on math I have 115% In that calass! I scored 100% on all tests and have got all his extra credit questions correct. I guess I just panicked? I dont know, haha and I do not mind you asking at all, it is good to be honesty, and then actually raised me up, in the most peculiar way, haha.

you seem like you have a good chance and you seem like a well rounded person like Parlabane said, good luck:)

will someone tell me how to start a new thread? haha

yeah click on discussion room
then scroll down to my chances click on it
and on top it should say NEW THREAD click on it:)

Wait nvm, I found it haha thanks so much :)

good essays

thanks!

I might take the SSAT in a different state because my state is full. What does standby mean? I’ve looked at all of them in the nearby states and they all say standby.

Standby means that you go to the testing center the day thereof to register in person. It costs a bit more $$ but if that’s your only choice, go for it.

What if the testing room is full? Would I have drove four hours for nothing?

^ yep. but at this point, you have basically no other option (maybe flex? but i’m not sure how that works).

I’m treasurer of student council and speak Chinese fluently too! HIGH FIVE! What everyone’s been telling me is focus on the ESSAYS (which intimidates me because I’m good at essays but not at ones that are trying to sell myself). That’s all I have to say… not very knowledgeable… yeah…

I would reccomend retaking if you can find a test center!

If I am taking it twice on January 9th, do I have to tell the Admissions?
