Chances Please and Thanks

31 ACT
SAT 690 M, 580 CR, 560 W (Hope to at least improve a little this Saturday, break 700 in math and 600 in CR)
SAT II’s 700 Chemistry 730 Math

93.3 GPA (unweighted), not sure exactly what that is on 4.0, something like a 3.7 or 3.8

5 Total AP Classes: Chemistry (5), US History (5), Physics (This Year), AB Calc (This Year), US Politics and Gov (This Year)

I’m in the second decile of my class of roughly 200, I have a feeling I’m closer to the 10th% than the 20th% but thats just a feeling. I go to what I would consider a good public school, 94% go on to college.

EC’s: Don’t have a heck of a lot, haven’t really done anything all 4 years did pretty much nothing Freshman year, but last year/this year have done a decent amount of stuff. I’ll give some of the highlights:
Math Club, 11/12
Job at local grocery store End of 10/11/12
Ski Club 10/11 (maybe this year?)
Assistant Coach in local Basketball league 10/11maybe this year
Some other volunteer stuff
FIRST Robotics 10
Member of recreational basketball league 9/10/11/12
Masterminds 12
Hopefully NHS this year
A few other minor things, as I said not a heck of a lot

Recs: Got the two teachers of the AP classes I did last year. I’m not sure they’ll be great. Both teachers know I’m a good student, but I’m more of the quite hard worker than the suck up.

Anyways I’m looking to do Chemical Engineering. My counselor said my top 4 schools were all reaches, which I feel like they are more borderline reaches but maybe I’m wrong. So my top 4 colleges are:

Lafayette

Bucknell

University of Rochester

Lehigh

I plan on applying early decision at Lafayette, and my dad went there which may hopefully help. What do you think the chances are I get into those schools? I was kind of hoping that I could just get into 1 or 2, cause I would be happy with any. The rest of the schools I plan to apply to are:

Syracuse

WPI

Clarkson

RPI/Case Western (will probably pick one)

I feel like I should be able to get into most/all of those the only one that seems like could cause me problems in RPI. Is the assumption that I should get into those schools viable?

Thanks, I mainly want to know what people think my chances are to get into my top 4, and even more specifically mainly Lafayette/Bucknell.

Anyone want to chance me?

Looking for input particularly on Lafayette/Bucknell

Don't ignore me just cause I'm not looking at Ivy League

Clearly you are a very strong math/science person which helps your chances as a prospective ChemE. That's not to say that the adcoms are going to ignore your CR and to a lesser extent Writing scores. I'm currently a student at Bucknell and I know a few people who are ChemEs. They are some of the smartest students on campus, so I imagine that admission into the ChemE program is very competitive. Some general statistics: 475 students out of 1748 applicants were admitted to the College of Engineering, the average SAT in COE is 1364. Stats aside, I think Bucknell does a good job admitting students based on the entire application. Bucknell wants to admit students who really do display an interest in attending. So, pay special attention to the supplemental materials of the application. I think Lafayette may be easier to get into than either Bucknell or Lehigh since its freshman class profile is a little bit weaker statistically and the acceptance rate is higher. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Thanks, any other comments would also be appreciated

ilmor if you check back, I appreciate what you said but you didn't really chance me per say

Bump....................

Double Bump

Please chance me!

Isn't a 31 like a 1380?

I don't know exactly I just know its a lot higher than a 1270, once again any chances would be appreciated!
