Ok I have all my requirements set, I have taken all the classes I need to take.

My SAT scores: 660 math, 540 CR, 560 writing

I have run cross country for 3 years and am now the captain of the team.

I have a little bit over 100 hours of community service.

However my problem is my GPA. my weighted is 3.48, unweighted is 2.75. ya im pretty ashamed of my unweighted.

I am a guy if that helps, i've heard rumors that JMU is more lenient, in terms of admission, with guys than with girls

are you in state or out of state? I’d say you would have a good chance but there is really no way of telling i heard of many people with really good stats, including high SAT scores being waitlisted and rejected. You really just have to wait and see. It would also be in your favor if you are in state.

Your weighted GPA is what matters, and your weighted GPA is good enough to get you in. Your SAT is fine for JMU. I think you have a really good shot. Just apply early action.

Yeahh, you’ll be fine, I am pretty sure

Im a rising JMU freshman (DUKES!!!) male and my stats (at time of admission) were

-SAT= MATH : 560 READING : 500 WRITTING : 510
-GPA (UW)= 3.27
-GPA (W) = 3.44
-Extras= High school swim team, Marching/Concert Band, Key Club, Spanish Club, Book Club, Art Club, senior class officer, Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout)
-Honors= Qualified for all district band twice on the clarinet

I would apply for early decision if I were you and make your appliaction essay really good and interesting. Get letters of recommendations from teachers who you think will write a strong and supportive letter. DONT get senior teachers to write you a letter!!!

GOOD LUCK!!
