Do you have any idea what his GPA was or if he had any distinguishing ECs?

SHE had a 3.8ish I think. You’re a junior right? You have all summer to develop EC’s.

Yeah, thanks for the info.

You need more ECs

The schools you are applying to are the hardest in the nation. There is no question that you need <33 ACT, Extremely rigorous schedule, High GPA, and fabulous ECs. You seem to have all of these, the only drawback may be your GPA. Even though you have a very hard schedule the GPA may be a drawback. I would expect you to get in to Northwestern and Duke, and the rest are a toss up.

HYPSM are reaches for everybody. I’d say you’ve got a good shot a Columbia and UofC, but you’re definitely not safe. I think you’ll get in at Cornell, Duke and NW though.

Your course load seems good but your gpa is rather low for the majority of these schools. I sincerely recommend you get some safeties, here are some good ones:
“Lower tier ivies” (cornell and brown)
Washington U in st. Louis
U of Virginia
Emory

You’re in a very peculiar place since the only thing holding you back is your gpa

Chance a transfer if you can:

For students who get 4.0s, do you have many kids at your schools who get them or are you an exception? At my school, our grades aren’t inflated at all. They do not even tell us our weighted gpa. There may be 1 kid in our grade with like a 3.97 but i do not think he ever leaves his house. Do you guys think it would have been better for me to get a 4.0uw at my local public school rather than a 3.7 at my magnet school?

U Chicago, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Columbia: high reaches.

I want to help you, but I hate chancing for such selective schools because there are so many selective criteria that people can point out! To be comforting though, all the “HYPS” are reaches for anybody, even the “perfect” applicant.
