Chances (Please help me get a realistic view about acceptance)

I feel terrible posting this thread because I know there are so many of them, but I'm not very confident about my chances to being accepted. Hopefully you guys can give me a realistic expectation to my acceptance.

ACT: 29

Cumulative GPA (Weighted) 4.152
Class Rank 56 of 906

Cumulative GPA (Unweighted) 3.970
Class Rank 8 of 906

My AP course history is weak. I took AP english lang&comp junior year, and senior year I am only taking AP stats, AP psych, and AP bio. I did take honors english freshman and sophomore year.

Extracurricular: This is weak as well. I'm apart of Nation Honors Society (11-12), Future Educators of America (11-12), International Club (12). I tutor twice a week at a local junior high. As for work experience, I've been working at Old Navy for 6 months, and back in the fall of 2009 I worked at a pumpkin farm for a little over a month.

I live in-state, and I am a white female. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I thought I'd include it anyways.

In my application I applied for LAS because my sophomore year I hope to get accepted into the UIUC campus of UIC's college of nursing.

Do you have Naviance at your school? If so, check and see how your classmates with 29 ACT and 4.0 did on admissions at UIUC. At son’s school, Naviance indicates that you would have high likelihood of being admitted. Most all kids with > 4.0 weighted are admitted at his school. Schools differ, so check with guidance department about whether your school has Naviance.

I think you are solid for LAS. Your ACT and class rank put you within the middle 50% of admitted LAS freshmen. Good luck

Agree with Mom
