Chances?? Please help

Hi everyone. I'm a 1st time poster. I'd be soooo grateful if you would reply to this post. I want to have a realistic idea of whether getting into Columbia would be feasible for me. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks for taking the time.

I wanted to know if I have any chance of getting into columbia?

I am an Indian who lives in Sydney, Australia.
I'm currently in year 11, and haven't done the SATs so bear with me. Well here are my stats:

School: Sydney Girls High School (it's a selective school, 3rd in the state and really, really competitive).
PSAT results (I know don't directly correlae with SAT results but like I said, I haven't done the SATs yet; I'm going to do them in November):

Critical reading: 69
Math: 66
Writing skills:68 Selection Index:203
Rank: While my school doesn't give overall ranks, it does give ranks for individual subjects:

English Advanced: 108/162
English Extension 1 (N.B. Extension courses are supposed to be harder and more rigorous): 3/162
Maths Extension 1: 73/148
Mathematics: 66/155
Economics: 28/56
Modern History: 17/56
Legal Studies: 2/21

Also, I am in the process of preparing a football tournament at my school for the UNICEF cup challenge, and raising money for "the right to play" campaign this year.
Helped in the Red Cross Appeal for 2005
Part of Amnesty Internation School group for 1year.

thanks in advance!

um...i can barely tell the chances of people in the united states, let alone in Australia hahah

my advice is just to apply...if you're considering Columbia, you're probably a somewhat competitive applicant...just apply and see what happens

yeah...I'm going to give it a shot
:)

Columbia is making a push to admit a greater number of international undergraduates, so being from Australia should help you considerably, probably enough to overlook whatever your standardized test results will be (and I'm sure you'll do fine), since preparation for such there must be more difficult anyway.

I know someone here from Perth. Now there's a long haul from home!

that's a plus I guess.

just wondering, how good it columbia for financial aid? Both my parents are doctors, so I guess we are middle-class. But college tuition fees in the US are still amazingly high, compared to here, in Sydney. So I was just wondering would kind of financial aid do they offer to ppl. in my circumstances, and does it have a large influence in the admissions process?

thanks in advance :)
