<p>unfortunately...I would say Colgate is a large reach. Your rank is very good but your unweighted is below the average by a bunch (3.7) and your SAT V + M is also lower than the average (1390). RD at Colgate is substantially harder than ED since 40 percent of the class is filled already by the time RD comes around. Unless you are a URM or athlete...chances are slim.</p>
<p>usually small selective LAC like Colgate gets tougher around RD. Your GPA is just a little bit too low. But your class rank is not bad. So with those Eagle Scout EC, killer essays, I say its a reach, not a huge one, just a regular reach.</p>
<p>I think the avg hs GPA of a freshman class is a meaningless stat since scales and standards are so different for each high school, so I wouldn't lose hope based on a lower than avg GPA compared to the posted Colgate avg. However, your SAT and class rank is a little lower than avg, so don't think you have a great chance, but are certainly in the running.</p>
