You have a good shot at being admitted to Brown but it's by no means a sure thing.

Make sure your application reflects why you specifically want Brown, go there or get an alumni interview and also have several back up choices that are less selective. If you tell us your interests, we may be able to suggest some alternatives as back ups.

well my other schools 4 RD are vassar, bryn mawr, wesleyan, syracuse, and boston university.. but i want to go to brown so badly.. somedays i think a have a chance and other days its just like.. ughh ill never get in :(

Brown is need blind, so perhaps you should apply there ED? Others on this forum may be able to say if this is a wise choice, if you have financial need. Syracuse and BU should be well within your reach. Also look at Wheaton -they have a program where you can take some courses at Brown

yea, i am applying ED.. financial aid isnt a big deal 4 me.. i mean it would help but im pretty sure i wont be getting much. ill check out wheaton. thank you

You sound like a strong candidate to me. Obviously, at a school like Brown, nobody is a "sure thing," but you definitely have a reasonable shot. Write a killer essay, and your application will be really good.

Is it possible to retake the SAT? It's not favorable to have an SAT score below about 2100, but it's definitely still doable. Your ECs are great. Good luck!

Absolutely! You are an African American female, do you know how many schools would kill to have you apply? You could be a far worse candidate but as affirmative action dictates, you are the type of diverse student that the ivys are looking for.

i know minority status helps, but i dont think its that important -- its not like the ivys are fighting over us or something.. thanks 4 the words of confidence though
