where are you applying?

the ivies and other top 20-30 school.

hahah…

For the top 20 schools it’s such a crapshoot man… Your stats are good, though I’ve gotta say that your SAT CR score is low and you don’t supplement it with a good Literature SAT 2 score. Also, the Chinese score strikes me as a cheap effort to boost your stats since it appears that you’re ethnically Chinese. (If I’m wrong you should definitely play that up.) It’s also unclear from your post what your interests are. Why are you working at a law firm and a biotech company? I honestly can’t say you’re a clear admit at any T20 including Rice. Just kick ass on the essays and hope for the best. It’s out of your hands after Jan. 1!

thanks @Owl2014. But honestly, these days the top schools are such a crapshoot that almost nobody can be a guarantee for any of them. it seems like good grades and SAT scores along with solid extracurrics is going to cut it anymore…
however, i don’t quite agree with how you said i need to supplement a good lit score with my cr one.
