To be honest, no. Having been deferred at 3 schools and accepted early at just one so far, has created anxiety. It's a crazy year with the number of applications colleges are receiving.

The only reason I can see for you getting deferred anywhere is a criminal record you're not telling us about, like something along the lines of a murder conviction. I'm glad I got in three years ago and don't have to compete with you for a seat.

I agree with the other posters, jomass. You would clearly be an asset to any college. Your chances are high for acceptance. Relax a bit now and enjoy the next few months. You are going to go to a wonderful college, and given your stats I think you'd be very happy at William & Mary.

For those of you who took the time to chance me 2 months ago…and thought I was bragging, or “would be an asset to any college”, here’s the truth: Waitlisted to WM.

Pretty upset, since the odds of getting in via waitlist are so slim and drawing out this insane process until summertime would drive me even crazier! It’s been 5 months of anxiety already. Other than my avg SATs (but countered by two 5s on AP tests), I thought my schedule rigor, 3 national leadership awards, and endless EC’s would be enough.

Even drove 7 hr roundtrip for an interview and indeed did the optional essay.

jomass, I along with others on here am surprised you were waitlisted. However, I can tell you from experience that it is not the end of the world. I’m sure there are many others out there scratching their heads and wondering how they were waitlisted or rejected to certain schools. This one will sting for a little while, but keep your chin up! I’m sure you must have other options with your very impressive resume? Based on your track record, I’m certain you will be successful no matter where you end up.

If W&M is your first choice, I would suggest letting them know you are still interested. If it is not, you must have some pretty good options with your resume.
