I'll be retaking the SAT I this fall. I am hoping for a much better writing (700+) and math score (750+), so that my total SAT I score will be 2200+. As a top runner in the Mid-Hudson Athletic League I have been offered running positions at several smaller colleges, and I have improved greatly over the summer so hopefully I can get some of my top choices interested in me for athletic talent.

bump, please chance :)

bump, again :)

Your GPA looks good, but it really depends on your class rank.
SAT I is a little low for those schools.
SAT IIs look alright, but not great. On Math II, an 800 puts you at 90th percentile, which means with a 740, you’re somewhere in the 60th or 70th percentile which will not look good if you’re applying to these engineering/applied sciences schools which are heavy with the math. You need to have a good grasp on Pre-Cal, TBH. And on your ECs, you said you know Multi-variable Calc, so you should creamed the Math 2 SAT II.

Columbia, MIT, and Yale are all up in the air for everyone. So you’ve got a shot, but I don’t think you’re one of the shoe-ins. I think Cornell is a high match, and you’re into all the rest.

Well I didn’t do Multi-variable calculus till after the Math SAT II :frowning: I don’t seem to do well on the math SAT’s, but on practice tests I’ve gotten like one or two wrong at most. Also I’m hoping to get recruited by MIT primarily, but one of the coaches I know said that if I have a great season I could get offers from Columbia and other Ivy League schools. One of his female runners was recruited by Harvard, Yale, and a few others. Would you recommend retaking the SAT II’s or SAT I first?

I’m not sure. Ask your counselor.

My rank is 11 out of 180, due to a low AP English Language grad sophmore year… And some of the top students at our school don’t take any AP or IB courses…

Anyways, Bump

Bump. GPA is higher, just needs to be updated after the first semester
