Why haven't you taken the SAT? Adcoms are going to wonder about that.
I think you probably have pretty good chances except you don't seem to have a hook. Nothing really stands out as spectacular. Your grades and ACT seem fine (47% of the class of 2010 had a 31 or better on the ACT). I wish you good luck.

As to your chances in investment banking:
Once gaining acceptance to Emory College you apply to Emory's Goizueta Business school sophomore year. You pretty much have to be in this school to go into I-banking. Goizueta is ranked the 4th best undergraduate business programs in the country by Business Week:http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/07/undergrad/index.html .
The Business community holds Emory University's Goizueta Business School in very high regard so you're going to be able to get interviews with companies like Lehman Brothers, Bear Sterns, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley etc.

I plan on applying to Goizueta next semester (which is a semester early).

No, adcoms aren't going to wonder about the SAT. He took the ACT. Both are acceptable, and ACT is much more common in the west and middle states. (OP is in Oregon.) Just like nobody wondered why my D didn't take the ACT. Taking both is a great idea, but certainly not mandatory.

I have no clue about chances. You look great to me. But I think being from Oregon WILL be a plus. Schools like to be able to brag about having kids from all over, so if you're from an under-represented area, that's a good thing.

you're probably in...

thanks for the replies guys. I just have a couple more questions:

Is there a certain GPA I have to hold in order to keep it a good match, because I'm getting a few Bs right now, and although I'm working my arse off to fix this, I'm anticipating the worst (so my GPA may drop to a 3.85 if I completely mess up)

How is the social scene at Emory? Are there any other universities nearby in case I don't like the people over there?

thanks again

I think you're gpa is probably fine.

You're not going to find a better social scene at a higher ranked school. The fraternities have the best parties ever. I've partied at a few other big schools and it was completely lame (basically a few people in their room drinking cheap crap afraid of their RA or a keg party that has the police come like 4 times). At Emory people drink quite a bit, usually with a legit DJ/rapper straight out of Atlanta, the capital of the rap world. Emory students don't do stupid stuff when we party so the police don't bother us. You don't have to drink to have a good time either. Nearby universities: SCAD (emo girls), Agnes Scott (feminist girls), UGA and Georgia State (drunks).

and while we're generalizing, Georgia Tech (no girls) =)

the only thing i think is low is your class rank, and that doesn't matter much to the people anyways.
:)
