Chances please! (will chance back)

GPA (uw): 3.56
GPA (w): 4.51
White female from suburban Indiana
ACT: 33 (re-taking Saturday, wish me luck!)
2 3s, 1 5 on AP tests

Chances for:
William & Mary (my top pick, interested in the Dual Programme w/ St Andrews, if anyone knows about that)
Kenyon
Georgetown
UChicago (eek)
Earlham
Oberlin
Carnegie Mellon

Major in economics/IR/sociology

ECs
4 years of marching band
-1 yr as MB librarian
-1 yr trumpet section leader
3 years Symphonic Band
1 year Wind Ensemble (3rd place at state)
4 years pep band
French Honor Society (service based, partnership w/ Haiti)
-FHS exemplary service award
Nat'l Honor Society
4 classroom leadership awards
3 Certificates of Honor on the National French Exam
3 (and counting!) academic letters

I feel my strengths are my test scores and ECs. My weak point is obviously my GPA, I average A-/B+s, all in APs and I'm in the IB diploma programme. My coursework is rigorous, some of the hardest at my high school.

I don't know if this counts at all with W&M, but I'm an English ex-pat, and I know they have a strong connection to Britain, especially with the Joint Programme.

Thanks in advance!

Write a good essay and you would have a good chance. Make sure you stand out. Chance back?

I think that your ECs are solid, and ACT score is pretty good for these schools, but I think you should work extra hard for the rest of year to pull ur gpa up as much as you can. I think if you can get that up and like jetsWIILLsoar pointed out, a good essay that makes you stand out will definently give you a good chance.

Chance back?
