Your profile suggests that you have nicely concentrated in your strengths. For example, the service, interest clubs, and music/theatre stuff. Nobody could accuse you of not being passionate there.

The biggest obstacle seems to be your SATs. Can you retake them? Personally, I’d recommend a private Kaplan tutor. As I’ve said in other posts, they are expensive, but worth it. My scores jumped by 80 points in math, 60 points in critical reading, and 20 points in writing. They don’t waste your time, but help you focus on your trouble areas and help you maximize your strength areas. Your ACT, on the other hand, is really nice. Submit that exclusively as much as you can.

Your GPA is awesome if the school is as competitive/high-quality as you suggest. Make sure they know that. However, it can hurt you if the competition for your schools includes those with higher GPAs.

What is your unique medical/family situation? That sounds like it could be essay material. Is Student Ambassador an overseas thing? That would be pretty cool, if so. Please explain.

An interview is the answer to a lot of this. It would help you explain unusual circumstances, let you show your dedication in EC’s and why they are important to you, and help you show that you have a strong personality that will make them want to include you in their class.

As for your schools…

Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, and Brown are high reaches. They are really hard for anyone to get into and I don’t know if either your GPA is quite at the median level for them. On the other hand, if you really explain yourself and show more about your EC’s, it could help a little.

Cornell is supposed to be the easiest Ivy to get into, but still, not easy for anyone in reality. I’d call it a low reach for you. They’re bigger than Princeton/Stanford/Columbia/Brown, so you will need to really fight to make them see your personality. Don’t let them pass you by, you can do it!

NYU seems like a nice, solid match.

Brandeis seems like a good possibility, just keep grades up and try to do something cool and different to show to them, just to break out of the mold for a bit.

Tufts can be funny. I’d call it a match for you, though not quite as solid as NYU and Brandeis.

You didn’t previously explain that you are SC president, so that’s why people (including me) were at first not blown away by EC’s. What museum in NYC was your internship at? What did you do with it? You need to emphasize this stuff, it’s sweet, but it can look like ordinary details without the appropriate presentation. Proudly show your involvement and explain what you have to do for each, assume people know nothing about your leadership responsibilities. Make sure that whatever you do, you can tell them why this stuff matters.

What do you want to do? Prospective major? Interests? Don’t keep them guessing too much. Show them what you want to do (even if it’s not 100% sure) and why, or at least what you like to learn about and why.

Best of luck. I hope this helps. Can you chance me? Link enclosed below. I’d appreciate it. Thanks. Peace.
