hmm, i’m gonna have to BUMP this up! please, any suggestions, ideas, anythingggg!?

Since it seems like you live in New York, you should have no problem getting into NYU. Just make it seem like you’re an “authentic” New Yorker who understands and appreciates the city. Your SAT’s and GPA (90/100 = 3.6) are a bit low for the Ivies. Given the very high competitiveness of Stanford and Princeton (along with Princeton’s tendency to only take a certain kind of student) these schools are essentially impossibilities. Cornell is certainly a reach, but you have a pretty good shot. Columbia and Brown both value subjective things (essays, teacher recs, EC’s) almost as much as objective (GPA, standardized tests) but they’re also very competitive, so they are definitely high reaches. It will really come down to your essays. I’m really not familiar with Brandeis and barely know Tufts. I’d say you have a fair chance at them, but I’m not sure.

Bottom-line: You should get into NYU and possibly Tufts, Brandeis, and Cornell. Columbia and Brown will be real reaches, but it’s probably possible with a phenomenal essay. I don’t think Princeton and Stanford are too realistic unfortunately.

Your GPA is on the low side, but if your essays and ECs can make up for it, you definitely have a chance.

I noticed no one really answered your question!

i think you should send:
LIT - it’s one of the hardest SAT II test (i think b/c of test-taking time), if only you got above a 700

&& MATH II: i think for this one I should be frank with you and other prospective students applying to prestigious schools… a score lower than a 780 on MATH IC is not smiled upon in fact i felt after talking to admin counselors that it’s frowned upon. They would much rather see a lowered MATH IIC (that’s above a 700) than a higher MATH IC. MATH IIC demonstrates higher level mathematical comprehension and in many cases Stanford, Cornell, and Columbia counselors have even said at their “events” that MATH I is discouraged.
[so for others reading this post - i would advise that if your decent at you’re honors/AP math definitely don’t waste your money on MATH I if you’re going to take any MATH SAT subject test]

so there you go! LIT and MATH II

as for the chances… i pretty much agree with all preceding posts :)

good luck!
