Chances please! Worth applying?

<p>Hey all! Wondering if I have a shot at Emory. I visited over Spring Break, did the tour + info session and loved it, but don't know if I have a chance of getting in. Please be honest!</p>

<p>Recs- Both will be great. One from science teacher that has had me 3 years, other from a PhD history teacher.</p>

<p>Also, I kind of have a hook in that I grew up overseas. I went to an International School in Trinidad and Tobago for most of my life. Plan on writing Commonapp essay over this and the diversity I grew up around. </p>

<p>I think that you have an excellent chance of being accepted. You meet the academic profile in terms of GPA and SATs/ACT. Your ECs are okay. Your experience growing up in Trinidad and Tobago should provide the setting for an interesting essay. I suggest that you get going on your essay asap, as it’s nice to have time to draft, re-draft, polish up, spell-check, show it to some trusted advisers, etc. Sounds like your recs will be strong. You have visited, so you have the demonstrated interest factor. Seeing your screen name of twoods, I assume that you’re a golfer, so here’s a tidbit for you: Ely Callaway graduated from Emory.</p>
