GPA is 3.5
My current SAT score is 1740
Math 590
Reading 590
Writing 590
I'm taking SAT in October again and hope to get my score up into the 1800s.
I play varisty soccer for 4 years and golf for 2 years.
I do community service at the library.
I am a participant in two clubs for the past 3 years.
I also plan on getting into NHS in the fall.
I have taken two CP classes in the past, but I am taking all honors classes next year.

i plan to make this college "early decision" in better chances of getting in.....

I’d say if you get your CR and math scores to 650+ (they don’t look at writing), you’d have a pretty good shot ED. GPA is a little low but you still have first semester to bring it up a little. Try to take some AP classes and do well in them senior year. What are CP classes? And what major are you trying to get in for?

Thanks!

CP classes are the next one down from honors (I only took 2, biology and chemistry).
I am expecting my GPA to go up to atleast a 3.7 (its only counting freshman and sophmore year), considering how much I improved my grades junior year.

If I take AP classes senior year only, will colleges notice that, and will it help?

Also I am still unsure of what I would like to major in, and frankly I am pretty lost as far as majors go…

Your major can affect your chances a lot at TCNJ, for example if you try to get into the bio or chem programs with the grades you posted, it will probably be pretty difficult. Take some AP’s senior year, have some good EC’s (tcnj likes all that stuff a lot), and get GPA and SATs up a little bit and you should be ok.

haha yeah, my weaker subjects are definately math and science so i don’t think i would prosper in bio or chem as a major lol…

if i was to major in english or maybe economics would my chances of getting into TCNJ be a little bit better?

Also, i already completed my schedule for senior year and it doesn’t consist of any AP classes, i’ts just all honors. Do you think it would be worth changing my schedule for those APs?

Thanks! I really appreciate your advice!

I really don’t think your major matters all that much. I say this because my original major was bio but they denied me from that and instead simply told me to choose a different major. If you can get in, you’re going to get in.

alrighty, ive got lots of work to do!

thanks!

do you love it at TCNJ?

Startarevolution, maybe you were a really good applicant idk. I know it definitely affects your chances coming from the admissions people themselves, and I wouldnt think theyd take the time to say please switch your major so we can accept you to everyone. So your major makes a difference.

And yes, TCNJ is awesome, feel free to PM me about student life.

okay i might just take you up on that, thanks!
