I left somethings out because I can't think of anything else, so if you have any questions about any activities or parts of the application that I left out, please let me know!

Anyone? Haha

No one? Alrighty haha

I was pretty pumped up as well waiting for replies on my first chance thread almost a year ago with somewhat similar stats. But yeah, don’t bump so much.

Anyway, I think you’re in. I take it you might be going for CS? Apply to L&S rather than EECS if so because L&S has a slightly higher admission rate and also offers you more options if you decide you don’t want to do CS. It’s not very hard to switch over once you’re accepted if you decide to do EECS.

Thanks  are you a senior?

I hate to do this, but…bump.

Also add Events Coordinator for Junior State of America (founding officer) for this year.

Please if you get a chance, also add MIT, CIT, Stanford, USC, and Cal Poly SLO to your results.

I don’t think that you deserve to get in and definitely not EECS.

Academic ability definitely seems to be on the weaker side.

No I’m a freshman here doing CS. Learn to research.

Sorry but MIT, CIT and Stanford are way out of your league especially with their AA.

@caiacs just curious, what makes you think I’m “undeserving”? The test scores will go up, as already mentioned. Were you thinking of a different word? Also, by lacking academic ability, do you mean a decent test score above the 25th percentile?

@BerkeleyHopeful I sincerely apologize. It was just that since your username IS BerkeleyHopeful, I assumed you were still hopeful, hence still in high school. I already know how to research, by the way. Asking questions counts as research. Thanks for the chances, by the way!

No problem. I didn’t meant to sound harsh, but it says Berkeley’15 in my location and usually chancers creep the people that chance them to get a feel for their knowledge. Sorry about that.

Btw I had like the same test scores when I made my first chance thread. Second time I made it, it had gone up over 200 points with just a few practice tests. Good luck!

^I hope you’re doing well in the program there! Also, I’m using the CC app, so I can’t see the location or click on people’s usernames. :/

By “undeserving”, I mean that your displayed academic ability throughout high school compares extremely poor against those of CS and EECS students here.

If you believe [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu) , then for 2009, applicants to L&S majors with UC GPA of 4.20 or higher generally had a better than even chance of acceptance to Berkeley, while those with UC GPA 4.00 to 4.19 needed SAT scores of 700 or higher per section to have a better than even chance of acceptance to Berkeley.

Engineering was tougher, with a UC GPA of 4.20 or higher and SAT scores of 700 or higher per section needed for a better than even chance of acceptance to Berkeley. And EECS is generally thought to be one of the most difficult engineering majors to be admitted to.

However, Berkeley has more than likely gotten more selective since 2009, so these 2009 estimates would be optimistic estimates of your chances.
