First of all, I'm from New Hampshire, and I go to one of the best public schools in the state. I'm not sure how my location will affect admission.
GPA: 3.48 my school always does weighted, I don't know what my "unweighted" is
SATs: 1880 600 math. 630 reading. 650 writing. Essay 10
7 honors, unfortunatly no aps, and my school doesn't do IB (I don't even really understand what that is)
I took honors French freshman year and that screwed my GPA because I got a C
I'm a varsity athlete in the winter, and JV in 2 other sports
about 100 community service hours
2 years with a part time job

All your location really does is help those judging your stats to put your profile against either other out of state or in state applicants. Out of state is a bit more difficult to get accepted, as the applicants are typically a bit better overall than in state.

With your stats, it might be a bit difficult for you to be accepted. A 3.5 weighted GPA isn’t necessarily that spectacular, especially if you have no AP courses. Your SAT score is pretty good and you have some decent ECs, but I don’t know if that will be enough to get you in.

Did you apply for the decision date this coming week?

I did apply for the oct 17 deadline, and I should also note that I visited the school over the summer
I am regretting not taking ap classes. I am planning on doing an internship 4th quarter of my senior year, and it makes it much easier if one has no ap classes to attend everyday
another thing: the GPAs seem to be a bit different up north. Where I’m from, my 3.5 matches up pretty well with an 1880, yet down there it seems like my GPA should be higher for the same score?

A 3.5 without taking any AP classes is not bad. AP’s are so prevalent in Florida that it makes a sub 4.0 look inferior.

My concern for you would be the fact that you are an out-of-state applicant. OOS is a tougher route to take compared to in-state.

okay! Thanks for clearing that up. APs are not as common here, or at least they are more of a comittement to take even one (you also have to be a junior or senior). I do get mostly A’s with some B’s. I don’t know if this will make a difference, but naviance says the ave accepted from my school is a 3.53 with an 1809, and they have accepted a 3.32 with a 1650. Thanks for the input!
