Chances please? =)

So I am a tad bit worried that perhaps I may not gain admittance into holy cross. A couple kids at my school recently got in and their SAT scores were amazing. Mine were less than impressive. Here is my resume, can you tell me what you think my chances are? thanks!

Female
African American

I have a bit of a legacy here since my brother attended (class of '08) and my sister currently attends

GPA: 3.5
Class rank: Top 35%

Senior Courses & Grades:
AP Biology=96
Honors Anatomy and Physiology=94
Calculus=88
Physics=93
Theology=96
Writing for College=93
Computer Graphics=97

Extracurricular Activities:
JV/Varsity Lacrosse 10,11,12
Varsity Track and Field 9,10,11,12
Live smart Club 10,11,12
Student Council 11,12
(over 30 hours of community service)

Hobbies:
Piano (self taught)
Writing ghost stories

Even if your scores were less than perfect, it’s fine. It’s a test-optional school anyway. (I decided not to send my scores … They were horrendous haha) Your GPA is a tiny bit under the average GPA, but I think you definitely have a shot considering that you have two legacies and you’re a minority. Your current senior grades seem pretty good and they like to see an active participant in the school and community. I think you have a fair shot! :slight_smile: Good luck!

I’m currently a freshman at HC.

I think you will get in.

Me too. Having siblings at the school (especially at a catholic school, at least based on my experience with Georgetown and Notre Dame) should really help. Plus, your ranks/qual’s indicate that you will succeed there even if they are not tip-top for HC. Good luck!
