Expecting a really strong recommendation from an IB Spanish teacher, decently strong from Physics</p>
<p>ECs:
-was on the county executive's youth board, worked hand in hand with the county exec. and other high-up officials to promote youth involvement in county legislation///created an anti-cyberbullying movie and presented it at schools across the county
-went on a service trip to Costa Rica, taught english and repaired schools
-have had a part time job for 2 years
-co-organized the first county-wide "relay for life" fundraiser with the American Cancer Society
-National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Science Honor Society
-Science Olympiads (competed in optics and engineering competitions)
-Treasurer of the Poetry Club
-Spanish Club
-Engineering club
-Volunteered for 3 summers at a summer camp
-Stage Manager for two school productions
-Homework Helpers club
-work for a caterer occasionally
-assistant trainer for Long Island's Irish Football team</p>
<p>volunteer at various other places, probably 150+ hours total</p>
<p>again, am I being realistic with these schools? I know Amherst is really hard to get into for anybody, but the other schools??</p>
