<p>I’m just finishing up my junior year. Female, from Northern California, large pretty bad (2500 student) high school
Ethnicity: My mom’s Mexican, my dad’s white.
Income: Under 100,000</p>

<p>SAT: 720 M, 690 V, 680 W
(will take again in fall, hoping to raise math and writing)</p>

<p>SAT II: Bio M: 770 Chem: 770
Took Spanish and US History in May (predicted above 750 on both)</p>

<p>Class Rank: 1/550ish Unweighted: 4.0, all A’s or A+s Weighted: 4.83 --All honors or AP classes except PE, Health and Ceramics</p>

<p>APs: Freshman— AP Biology 5
Sophomore- AP Chem 5
Junior- Statistics, Physics B, Spanish, US History
Senior-English Language and Literature, Government, Microeconomics, Spanish
Literature, Calculus AB</p>

<p>Teacher Recommendations will be excellent, probably best student in career.</p>

<p>ECs: -JV Water polo Captain sophomore year, and MVP (25 hours week)
-V Badminton Freshman through Senior Year. Voted best player (11). My doubles partner and I are ranked first in our league. I will be captain next year (15 hours a week)
-Government Club Secretary (10,11)
-Interact Club Secretary (10), Co-President (11, 12). This is one of my biggest activities. I’m in charge of organizing huge fundraising and volunteer events, including buying Christmas presents for over 500 children in our town, etc.
-California Scholarship Federation- Treasurer (12)
-Math tutor (3 hours a week)
-Babysitting (5 hours a week)
-Piano 8 years</p>

Won third place in countywide essay competition
Awarded Top US History Student, Top Spanish Student
National Hispanic Scholar
National Merit Scholar semi-finalist or commended (not sure at this point)

Chosen to represent my school at Girls State, won’t be able to go, however </p>

<p>Other:
-Spent three weeks doing studies on Aspen trees in City of Rocks National
Monument, and I co-authored a published scientific paper on the decline of the
Aspens
-Was a teaching assistant in Marine Biology and Archaeology at Sonoma State University Summer of 2003
-I’ve spent around 40 hours over the last few years working on archaeology digs.
-Attended RYLA leadership camp last summer.
-This summer I will be living in Nicaragua for 8 weeks, volunteering with Amigos de las Americas, teaching children in local schools and working in a health center.
-DARE role model, taught kids about the importance of saying “no” to drugs</p>

<p>you might want to retake them in october just for keeps.
otherwise, i don't think the scores will be a major problem; you have good ec's so it shouldn't reallyy hurt you.</p>

<p>Very high. Yale will be hard to get into, but the legacy will help you.</p>

<p>I pretty much agree with laxgirl's evaluation on your schools AND that you need a couple of likelies that are also financial safeties.</p>

<p>IMO Macalester and Smith are matches - but not drop-dead safeties.</p>
