Please tell me chances

BTW: I will have recommendation letters from sec of air force and a genral i know personally for other schools and also i take ap/honors. Dropped IB in 9th.

ohhhh. now i see why nobody would respond to my semi-chances thing, it is too early in the game to tell. but you are warned tha when the end of junior year rolls around another semi-chances thread will probably be issued from me, but will not be bumped out of this atmosphere like my post "2nd post."

if you're looking at usna, you need to maintain those varsity letters and score well on sats and take a number of ap classes. also, being an eagle scout as well your community service will help. did you attend navy's summer seminar program? (or its usafa equivalent)

edit:i just realized you're not old enough to do summer seminar. however, i strongly encourage you to attend.

Here's some statistics on a few of the places you're interested in (2005 numbers):

USAFA--average GPA UW 3.8, SAT Verbal 629, SAT Math 663
USNA--average GPA UW 3.78 (approx), SAT Verbal 648, SAT MAth 670
UCB--average GPA UW 3.93 SAT (California GPA 4.2), SAT 629V/670M
UCLA--average GPA 3.87 UW (est.) (California GPA 4.17), SAT 629V/671M
Univ of Mich (Ann Arbor)--average GPA 3.72 UW, SAT 630V/675M
Maryland (College Park)--average GPA 3.85 UW, SAT 615V/645M

So as you can see, you're still a reach for all of these, but you're numbers on the GPA is close, you have lots of time, and you still haven't taken the SATs yet.

My guess is you are a match for Rutgers, Florida State, Univ of Miami (FL), and Univ of Florida.

If you are interested in flying and can't get into one of the academies, you might also check out Embry-Riddle (FL), Embry-Riddle (AZ), or Purdue (which offers a flight training aeronautical engineering major). You might also consider the other UCs like UCSD (excellent school for the sciences), UCSB, UCI, or UCD.

Also, as you are no doubt aware, getting into the academies requires that you be nominated by a Congressman/woman or U.S. Senator.
