Chances, please!

I live in VA. & I’m currently a junior. What are my chances at NYU?

GPA - 3.6 weighted

Rank - somewhere in the top 25%

SAT I - 600 V / 600 M / 680 W = 1870 total

SAT II - Math IC: 600, Spanish: 660 – should I retake these?

I’m taking the hardest courseload available and will graduate with the completion of 8 AP’s and the only Honors course available.

Ummmmm.... why are you asking this in the BU forum?

yeah usually ppl like to post in the forums "What are my Chances" and the college they are trying to get in.... whats your unweighted gpa... colleges could care less about your weighted simply b/c each school has a diff system of weighin grades.... if you can get your math and verbal up to about 1350 or so id say you'll give yourself a chance... but a 150 increase in those sections will be very difficult...

if your uw gpa is around 3.2 with a 1200 in you M and V SAT.. your chances are rather small for NYU and likewise for BU.. you may have a shot at BU's CGS... im not sure if NYU has a similar program or not

Oops, I meant to change NYU to BU :X

i had similar scores and got into CGS at BU..but with ur AP courseload and if u raisee ur SATI scores a little..u def have a good shot depending on which school u apply too (CAS, SMG, COM..)

i personally dont think SAT II's matter as much..so i dont really think u need to retake them..but u might find some better advice about what to do about those scores.

i know for this past yr.. the Math and Verbal sections of the SATI's really outweighed the Writing section score for a lot of schools. So with a bit of improvement in both of M and V..you have a good shot.

Ooh, okay thanks!
