Chances please?

I was just wondering if i had a chance at Barnard.

my ACT composite is 30
but i retook it last saturday with the writing section, and i’m hoping i raised my scores, but I am not sure.

my gpa is 3.84 unweighted (it would be higher but I had to move in the middle of Junior year and make up 4 weeks of school work),
and I am ranked 30 out of 529 students.

I have attended 3 different high schools in 2 1/2 years.

I have also been on the Honor Roll all three years of HS, and i plan to be on the Honor roll this year as well.

Also, I have taken all honors classes offered and PAP classes.
I took AP european history soph year, it was the only AP offered.
Then Junior year, i took AP BIO, AP US History, and AP calculus.
My high school in IL does not offer AP classes,
and it does not have many honors classes.
but I am taking the honors classes that they do offer.

Could anyone help me figure out what my chances are, please??

Hello, militarykid03...first, please know that I really am no more qualified than you to assess your chances. You can look at the stats of those that have been accepted at Barnard in the past few years by looking on their website, paying particular attention to the admissions section and the common data set.

All that being said, I find your list of accomplishments quite impressive, particularly given your history of frequent relocations. It shows that you are readily able to adapt well to any given situation, and to thrive there. I say you go for it! I do believe Barnard would do well to have someone like you join them....

Best to you!

Military kid-Just read your posts now. Be sure to stress in an essay or an interview-just how many moves you made, how adaptable you are, etc. Talk about how being a military kid has given you a different perspective than your peers in the civilian world. I visualize the Admissions Committee talking about how you would add a new viewpoint to many class discussions. You want to stand out from the many East Coast bred, usually very liberal girls who apply. And you do!
Be warned- Barnard is not a pro-military campus. Daughter (now a freshman) has been dismayed by some of what she has witnessed and heard. Daughter's dad was an officer in Viet Nam.
Good luck.
