Chances? Please? =)

Female Asian from Montgomery County, MD

Science magnet student

Most of my classes are honors or advanced. Last year I took AP World (4), BC Calc (4), and Language (4).

This year, I'm taking AP Physics, Environmental Science, and Lit. I'm also taking Multivariable calculus.

CGPA: 3.91
WGPA: 4.6

SAT's -
Math: 690
CR: 680
Writing: 700

Planning to take SAT II's in November and December:
Math I, IIC, Literature, and Physics

EC's:
Piano (for 12 years, competed at international level), NHS Co-pres, Asian American Club Co-founder, Drama club (4 years), Band/Pep band (4 years), Swimmer (9, 10), Part of service sorority, Competition dance (9, 10), Tutor

Awards:
MD Distinguished Scholar, AP Scholar

Work experience:
Held a part time job in Summer 2005, full time in Summer 2006

Not sure what I'm going to major in yet. Maybe engineering...?

Why take both math tests? You took World History AP...why not that SAT instead?

Very nice GPA...and SAT of 2070...is average. If you're going for engineering, that Math score has to be much higher. 750 ++ shouldn't be hard for a student that already completed BC calc...

If you do well on the SAT II's, especially the IIc which is almost a requirement for JHU, you would have a good chance.

Piano should help quite a bit -- I'm sure it is much more than a couple of words listed on your ec's right now.

Did you do Varsity dance/Swimming?

I think you have a decent chance overall. Depends on your SAT II's as well.

one definite thing i can tell you is not to take both math sat2s

Thanks for the advice. Jovenes - I don't test very well, it's just never been my thing. Irap - Why would taking both math SAT II's look bad?

mellow- The Math IIC covers topics from the IC plus more pre-calc material. Taking both would be pointless; if you know the material for the IIC, just taking that would be enough.

whoah, did you go to blair?

karch - No, I'm not at Blair. I'm in an environmental science magnet. Hehe.
