i dont really have any leadership positions because im really a shy person, but usually with the clubs im involved in, im really an active participant. i hope this doesnt hurt too much. also take my shyness into consideration for the interview as a factor that wont help much.

Rice: match
UCSD: ?
Cornell: match/slight reach
Johns Hopkins: match
HPYS: all reaches

thankyou :) i thought rice would be a reach... anyone else?

also do you think i should retake my SAT IIs?

UCSD...I can see as a yes. Leaders and outspoken people are sometimes uncommon here, depending who you associate with. Do good on your APs, because UCSD is tech-orientated, and numbers seem to matter here. If your asian, it may be hard to stick out, however.

well im not asian as in oriental but im still asian (indian).

thanks for your response.

Wonky,

Good GPA and SATs, all are above the 50% line at schools not named HYPS. I suspect Rice/JHU/Cornell are all slight reaches, but I think you get into at least one, maybe two, and maybe all three! SATs prbly too low for HYPS. And as a fellow indian, colleges don't consider us as under-represented minorities, but chose to discriminate towards us anyways.

yeah i agree w/ you about us being under-represented minorities....

thanks :)

Wonky-Faint:

UCSD: Match (out of state)
