Rank: 39 out of 377. GPA: 4.072
3 Ap classes this year/2 honors
I've been taking honors ever since freshman year
my grades are very unstable. freshman year bad, sophmore year straight As, junior year mainly As (like 2 Bs or something), this year...er. 5 As, 2 Bs, one C (don't shoot me! AP Chem is hard...)
SATs...here comes the horrible part...1640. Gasp! But I'm almost certain I've gone up because I retook it and the first time I was really tired.
So...yeah. You can tell me how funny it is that I'm even applying now.
Oh, and I'm African American, if that helps. And a girl.

out of 1600...like 1150 I think...dang.

Hey,

The SAT score is definitely the weakest link in your app. Ultimately, what will make the AdCom overlook it is the relationship they have with your high school. They get a lot of applicants from Bergen County, so they are likely to know your school well. Does it have a strong reputation? If so, this will help them to overlook your scores. They do realize that some of us are just bad test-takers and that we have bad days.

How are your SATIIs and APs? These may help, too. Remember, they use SATs merely to standardize your grades, that is, get a better idea of how an A at high school X compares to an A at high school Y.
