Chances please?

<p>first of all, good luck to all ED applicants! while you’re waiting though…any advice for my RD app to brown?</p>

<p>Race/Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Female
School:Very competitive, suburban school (3 RD kids to brown last year)
GPA unweighted: ~93
GPA weighted: ~96 downward trend though :frowning:
SAT (culmulative): CR 720 M 780 W 770
SAT IIs: 4 taken, all 720+
Course load: mostly APs/Honors classes. 4APs junior year (4s and 5s)</p>

<p>Essays: didnt write them yet, should be ok but nothing extroadinary
Recs: pretty decent, i believe
Interview: I had a great interview with an Asian girl who graduated in 2004. We related really well and ended up talking about watching chinese dramas. :wink:
Hooks: absolutely none</p>

<p>it's just a toss-up, the application looks good but not extraordinary. i would try to get the essays more than "ok" for a better chance.</p>

<p>hmmm, you sound like me. except i had research. looking at all the ppl who are applying this year and how many ppl like me have been deferred or rejected, i'd say that i got in b/c of my essay. make your essay extraordinary.</p>

<p>just how harmful is a "downward" trend? for example, good grades until junior spring/senior fall?</p>

<p>actually i was wondering about that too. most people do take harder classes in their junior/senior year right? so one would assume that the grades would go down... hm, though i was deferred early from penn so it might have been because of my downward trend...</p>
