good recs and I write great essays; last year I only missed 3 pt on my term paper.

hey guys/gals do i have a good chance getting into vandy?

Well I would suggest not sending the SATs if that is your concern, but then of course your SAT2s won't be sent. I am pretty sure Vandy looks at whichever one is better in terms of the SAT vs. ACT but the best way to find out for sure is to call admissions.

yes, you definitely have a chance, I got a 30 on my act and an 1860 on my sats (i sent both tests), comparable ec's and great essays/recs and i was accepted early decision. you could try applying early decision II if you haven't already... if you stress your interest of Vanderbilt and the importance of your extra curriculars in your essays/resume then you should be fine. good luck!

still, it's all relative, depending on the school and/or major you apply with could be a factor (in the case of engineering, etc.), i'm not really sure

800 on sat II chinese? wow are you a native speaker?, you could play that up in your application because im not sure how popular the east asian studies major is at vanderbilt, maybe that could be your hook...
i think your stats are good and that you definetly have a shot regular if you write strong essays

i am a native speaker and i think its kinda less impressive because of that. Should i try EDII or RD? I like vandy but I am still looking at other colleges and I am not sure vandy is the right fit for me.

i wouldnt apply ed2 if i were you. if you are not certain that you would want to attend Vandy at this point in the game, you are better off applying regular. If the officers sense that you are still rather ambivalent about attending Vandy (and they will), then they will be hesitant to accepting you. Your stats aren't competitive enough to put you in alone; your essays need to express your utmost true desire to go there. the officers have to know that it's your number one choice, if they don't then it isn't worth applying ed2 for you. hope that was helpful. best of luck
