Chances please

Harvard is my brother's first choice. You think he has a decent shot? Here is the basic overview:

prestigious private school in the northeast
SAT: 2310 (800M/760V/750W)
GPA: ~3.85/4 UW (top 5%)
Toughest possible course load
AP Calc BC in 9th grade (5 on AP)
Hispanic
Tri-varsity athlete
Captain of fencing team
3rd in a national physics competition
Plays cello for youth symphony orchestra
Plays bass in a band

if u have good sat 2's, i think u have a fairly decent shot

He got 800 for the Math IIC and 750 for Latin. Think he's going to take Physics at some point as well.

Wow, actually I am fairly sure he will get in. BC Calc in 9th grade? I'm taking BC when I'm a senior, and I'm a year ahead of the curriculum at my school!

there are people taking calc BC freshmen year EVERY year at my school
I took it sophmore year
in my school if you are taking it senior you, you are pretty much behind most people in the school.

I would say the unweighted GPA is ok, not that high, but not that low either
but how many APs and what is his weighted GPA?

Rainy I had the same calc situation at my school -- did you go to one of the new england boarding schools?

They actually don't weigh the GPA at his school. For what it's worth, he has taken pretty much all honors classes. As for APs, this year he took Latin, English (language), Physics (C) and European History. Next year is probably English (lit), Statistics, Latin (the other one), US History, and maybe another.

Good chances..the typical applicant I would say. He was a fairly good shot! If you were more thorough perhaps it were clearer bout ur bro's chances..
