Chances please!

<p>Hey guys! I'm getting pretty nervous this summer about college apps coming up and I wanted to know what my chances are of getting into UCLA or UCSD. My GPA's a bit low but I have a somewhat decent SAT score and am planning to retake it in the fall. </p>

<p>Asian Female at one of the most competitive high schools in CA. (Mission San Jose High School).</p>

<p>UC GPA: 3.8</p>

<p>Sophomore Classes Taken:
Honors Chemistry, World History, Spanish 4, Honors Geometry, Honors English, PE</p>

<p>Junior Classes Taken:
Ap Biology, Ap Stats, Honors Precalc, Honors English, Journalism 1</p>

<p>Senior Schedule:
AP english, AP Calc, journalism 2, physics, digital imaging, government/econ</p>

<p>Community College Classes:
Psych: A
Biotech: A
Sociology: A</p>

<p>AP Biology: 5
AP Stats: 3</p>

<p>SAT 1: 2150 800 Writing/ 670 CR/ 680 Math
SAT 2: 640 Spanish/ 720 Math IIC/720 Biology
Planning to retake SAT 1 maybe in the fall and Math IIC if necessary.</p>

Active Policy Debator for four years
Secretary of Spanish Honors Society

Peer Counselor
Girl Scout for 11 years straight; I also just recieved my gold award( I set up a tutoring program at a homeless shelter)
Played club tennis for 5 years</p>

<p>Slight reach - reach. You have good scores and average ECs, but your UC GPA is quite a bit below UCLA's average (by about .4). Make your essays awesome -- you just might get in.</p>

<p>I think you have a pretty good shot. Just try and get your GPA up, like kyledavid80 said. Good luck!</p>
