Also I am going to apply early decision (Stanford if theres a decent chance of acceptance). Im looking at some good Engineering Schools (especially Civil). Can someone please give me a realistic view of which schools I will have a good chance at. Im hoping Univeristy of California- Berkeley or Stanford, but feel as those are too much of a reach. ANy suggestions on engineering schools that I will pretty much get accepted into for sure.

I've heard thus far:
John Hopkins
Harvey Mudd
U Illinios-Champaign Urbana
Yale???

Yea I really didn't want Yale, I was wondering if someone was correct in saying they have good engineering. Thanks guys, any one else? Oh yea I do want Berkeley or UCLA, but I guess those are out too. Haha, oh well.

I think you will be rejected at most of the schools you have mentioned. In addition, I have never heard anybody say Northwestern or NYU are engineering schools. Chicago doesn't even have engineering that I know of... I think you should do some more research.

Yea I do want engineering, but UC is pretty much good for everything. Can some one chance my secind list please, thanks. Also I'm hoping to improve my ACT score by at least 2... so yea. Thanks a lot thus far

ok, now don't get too upset with my responses, because you need to understand a few things first: You WILL get into a good school. The only problem is that you are asking about the most competitive major in the country at the most competitive schools in the country. I can almost garentee that you will not get into Berkeley and Stanford with your ACT score, especially OOS. There are too many well-qualified URMs in-state. Also, for those engineering schools, you need a perfect/near perfect SAT score, because every smart kid in the country wants to go there. Do you have a list of "safety" schools? Surely there are some good ones that would fit you well. Keep your head up, and best of luck.

ok, how is Berkeley a "slight reach?" It has one of the top 5 engineering programs in the country, and is ranked only one below Stanford. How is Stanford a "huge reach" and Berkeley a "high match"?
