Thanks for reading!

To start off, don't put anything middle school related in your application. They don't care.

I would say you have a solid chance at UF. I'm not saying likely, but I'm saying you have a GOOD chance. Personally, I am impressed with how quickly you took on so many AP courses. If you are looking for a science major, they may look down upon your math SAT scores. Did you try the ACT? It may work better for you. UF doesn't need standardized test scores until December 31st, so see if you can squeeze that in if they have a November test date.

I assume your class rank is based on unweighted GPA? That would explain why it is not as good as I would expect. If that is so, UF can look past that.

Does your unweighted GPA appear on your transcript? If so, I can see that presenting a major problem for you. Understandably, you took many difficult classes, and colleges love students who challenge themselves. However, there is such a thing as exceeding what you are capable of while maintaining great grades, in an unweighted sense.

Just wondering, what were your AP scores? Sometimes, colleges do obtain them from the college board, and not from you.

I strongly disagree with dvm. With a 1340 and a 4.26 GPA you have an EXCELLENT chance of getting in (upper 90%).

I don't believe too many people in this forum will disagree with me

You are a little above the average accepted. 75% chance

I'd say you have a fair chance...it's the unweighted GPA that's holding you back. A 3.45 is indicative that you have more B's than A's, which might not make you competitive enough this year.

It is not true that UF does not care about anything from your middle school years. I contacted the admissions office about the fact that my son took Algebra I and Spanish in 8th grade and that his grades in these courses counted toward his high school GPA. I wanted to know whether it would count toward UF's calculation of his GPA. I was told that these grades would count toward UF's calculation of GPA as would any grade he received in Physical Science from 8th grade.

i think You have a good chance of gettin in dude 90%..Keep us posted!

the 3.45 is a state unweighted GPA...so u guyz think that my UW is holding me back?......:(

UF evaluates you using the weighted GPA, so you're fine!

you are looking like you are in pretty good shape. i at least would be surprised if you get rejected.

oh thanks very much! :)

I think you still have a month to get a higher test score. This could help make up for the 3.45

dvm- prospective major has no influence in admissions. They don't care what major you're choosing at this point since so many will change theirs later on.

Agree.....good luck!

thx sooooo much for the positive replies :)

Good luck, hope you make it (I'm betting that you will). Don't worry about your SAT math- your score (710) is great. SAT math is not indicative at all of the type of math you take for engineering- which is Calc I, II, III, DiffEq, etc. My oldest son scored lower on the SAT math than my younger son, but younger son has more problems conceptualizing the "higher" maths. Older son tutors Calc for UF. (Younger son goes there too, but probably would NOT be the best candidate for a Calc tutor, at least at this point!). If you do NOT get in, I would be surprised.

anyone else? :)

I can think of several people in this stat range and higher that have been rejected in the last 2 classes, but they had applied RD2. I don't think that when all the apps are compared side by side with one deadline that high performers like yourself will be rejected anymore. At least I hope not. Best of luck to you!

Let's all cross our fingers imdamom :/

Ahh....o.O now im scared.....
