9th- no APs or honors offered
10th- no APs offered, one honors offered but didn’t take it.
11th- honors english, human services, Japanese 3, Algebra 2, world history, Yearbook, Chemistry
12th- Sculpture, Trig, Human Phys, Japanese 4, AP Psych, AP Lit, Physics</p>
<p>4 years work experience- during school: Dairy Queen 30+ hrs/week; summers/breaks: 60hrs/week. (also work at community college as a secretary). I’m manager at DQ and I work alone.
Volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters 3 hrs/week, 2 years.
Taekwondo for 7 years, 3 gold medals in sparring, 1 bronze in forms.

<p>Here is an example of the potential unfairness in life and the applications process. Your SATs are decent but your GPA is quite low for BU--however-- I see you work between 30-60 hrs per week and I would guess that many students on here with 4.0 GPAS are either not working or doing less than 10 hrs a week. If you can pull those grades with that many work hours I would hope BU would see your potential and give you a shot---at least at CGS. Some colleges are so fixated on their ranking that they won't consider kids with less than stellar stats even if their work history is remarkable. I don't think BU is like that to the extent of some other colleges and large schools like BU have more room to take a chance on someone so I hope they will allow you an opportunity at BU. You really seem to have potential.
Being from Hawaii will help and I agree you should email an admin rep that covers the western US and let them know you would attend if offered a spot at CAS or CGS.</p>
