Being a sophomore level transfer dampens your chances as well.

Honestly, though, I have no idea how sophomore level transfer works and your high school record could carry it. If that doesn’t work, though, and you REALLY want to go to a UC, the general advice is to spend your sophomore year at a community college. Try taking a couple of Summer courses at a CCC to pull your grades up. You seem like a smart cookie, if you kept at it I’m sure you could have a very respectable GPA by the end of next Fall and be an in for a good UC.

You should’ve had no trouble getting into UCI as an undergrad freshman straight out of high school with your stats…but yeah, 3.0 in a Cal State is not very good.

I’m pretty sure that if you were given admission to a school for freshman admission, the requirements for transferring into said school at the junior level are more relaxed.

The University admits some transfer students before they reach junior standing, if they have met specific requirements.

If you were eligible for admission to the University when you graduated from high school meaning you satisfied the Subject, Scholarship and Examination Requirements, or were identified by the University during your senior year as eligible in the local context and completed the Subject and Examination Requirements in the senior year you are eligible for transfer if you have a C (2.0) average in your transferable college coursework.

^^according to that it could be your lucky day/life! lol. Call them up and ask questions!

The real problem is that you are transferring as a sophomore. There are only a limited number of majors that are open for sophomore transfer and I can almost guarantee that international relations is not one of them. If thats the case you have 0% chance of being accepted. The best thing that you could do is go to a CCC next year and fill out a transfer guarantee to one of the UC schools.

I am transfering to Chapman University as a sophmore student, But that is a private school…so their policy is different. Hm. If I were in your case I would prob to a Community for a year. THat is not a bad thing at all…it will give you time to work a lot and save money but you will also have time to get your grades up for transfering. hmmmmmmmmmmmm…there are many ways you could take it.
