Thanks in advance for any comments =)

I think you have a good shot. You have definitely excelled in many areas and concentrated in several significant ECs.

You say you have a "low GPA," but you're in the top 4% of a 900-person class, and it's 5.3 weighted. Unless this is on a 6-point or higher scale, I'm missing something.

why did you already take some IB exams? It's really hard to take an IB exam after only a year because the courses are designed to be taught over a 2 year period.

VeryHappy

Thanks for the encouraging post =) and my GPA is out of a 4.0 scale, but I've seen alot of threads where people have much better GPAs. Also, due to my rigorous curriculum I have a higher weighted GPA than other kids in my school who have 4.0s.

Piratemonkey

My school made me take 2 of my SLs during my junior year so I wouldn't be swamped my senior year since I am taking a science and a math. Also, I did have two years of Calc since it was pre-calc then calc.

There will always be someone with a higher GPA, higher SATs, taller, better dancer, cuter, with better hair. Get over it. Once your grades and scores are high enough so you're in the running -- and they are -- then they're looking at the total package. There is absolutely no reason -- no reason!! -- to obsess over your GPA.

your GPA is fine. in fact its better than a lot of the seniors at my high school. so i wouldn't obsess over it. and i think you have a decent shot but as always there are no way to be sure. but good luck!

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging comments =)
