Oh btw, my course load is the most challenging that my school offers. And I don't know if this makes a difference or not but the ROTC director at ND told me I would definitely get the ROTC scholarship if I get accepted into ND.

My d has remarkably similar stats (but no Tae Kwan Do!) and she is also anxious to know if she has a chance. I think you guys are right on the edge, a higher GPA would have been great, but it is what it is. You are obviously very smart and will do well (and be happy) wherever you go! Good luck!

I applied to the ROTC awhile ago, and isn't the professor of military science of each school is who issues the scholarship? And the prof of military science told me that I was guaranteed the scholarship in an interview. I wish my gpa was higher, but sophomore year was the killer.

i think the ROTC scholarship helps a little in the process.. i got the NROTC Marine Option scholarship Early Decision at notre dame and notre dame actually sent me a letter saying it would be put under my application file.

I think you have a solid chance, but UW GPA is pretty low for ultra-elite admissions like ND. But being an asian might help (no, I'm NOT kidding, they are considered a URM at ND). best of luck!

thnx vc08 I think I need alot of luck. :-/ I sent a letter to one of the people on the admissions committee explaining why I got a low gpa in my sophomore year (which is why my overall gpa is low). Does ND look at unweighted or weighted gpa?

You look pretty good. My unweighted was a 3.7. Each branch of service has a national headquarters that issues scholarships, that power does not belong to the individual unit Commanding Officers. I know that certain Navy recruiters can issue a scholarship on the spot to outstanding applicants though.

Unclesam, are you coming here as a Marine Option next year?

Danbrenn, yes, I will be if I end up getting accepted to ND

jkim56: I think you're one of those wildcard applicants like me. I think you have a solid chance though because the only thing really "pulling" you down is your GPA.

hahah thanks for all your input, myu nerves are alittle bit more settled i guess. But I really hope notre dame doesnt put too much emphasis on the gpa
