Chances please!?

I'm a sophomore now in Arizona.

My stats are:

Unweighted GPA: 4.0, Weighted: 4.6
SAT: 1970 (It was my first time taking it and I plan on taking classes so that score should improve)
Class rank: 4/500

Extracurriculars: (name and positions held, years i plan to do it, hours per year)
1. Panacea Secretary and Co-founder-community service club (10,11, 12) 100 hrs.
2. Interact- community service club (9) 20 hrs.
3. Viola (9-12) 200 hrs.
4. Basketball Team Captain (9-12) 225 hrs.

Honors or Accomplishments:
1 vs. 100 game show contestant "super smart kids episode"
Spanish Honor Society
National Honor Society

Research Experience:
UCSD Lab assistant in the med school 200 + hrs.

The schools I'm interested in are:

Duke (triple legacy)
UCLA (legacy, OOS)
MIT
University of Virginia (OOS)
Dartmouth
UPenn
Caltech
Georgetown
University of Arizona (safety for instate)
Johns Hopkins
Boston College

Do I have a chance at these schools? And could you possibly categorize them into reach, match, safety? Thanks for any input!

bump please!

Huge Reach: MIT, Caltech, Penn, Dartmouth
Reach: Johns Hopkins, Duke (despite legacy)
Slight Reach: Georgetown
Match: UCLA, UVa, Boston College

Unless you get that SAT up, UCLA slips into Slight Reach category. Work on more distinctive EC's for the High Reach schools--perhaps some independent research etc.

U.Va. doesn't seem like it is a match school unless the OP's SAT score increases.

Have you tried ACT? I feel like its a lot easier to study for that than SATs.

I would say for UVa try getting a2200 or above or like a 33/above on the ACT. Its tough since you OOS...but your rank and GPA are excellent...GOOD LUCK!

I took a practice ACT and scored a 30. I'll probably be sending both the SAT and ACT.

I know I need to work on my EC's. What are good ones that center around math and sciences?
And what are some other schools I should look at?

Hahah um not exactly. I got out on the third round :P

Bump! Any ways to increase chances (besides SAT scores)?

Another bump. Please :)
