Chances Please!!

Hey guys,
I am a junior, thinking about which colleges to apply.
I want to apply to Cornell, College of Arts and Sciences.
I am going to apply Regular Decision. Is it helpful to send the app in
around Oct-Dec (not as Early Decision though) ???
Do you think I have a shot ???

Asian Female
Competitive Public High School in VA (send many to ivies)
Major in Bio/Chemistry maybe.

SAT: took it twice- 2110, 2070
composite 2180 (CR 660, M 800, W 720 (12))

SAT II: 750 Chem
UW GPA: 3.9
W GPA: 4.7

AP Coures- 1 Sophmore year
5 Junior year
3 Senior Year

No Major Awards
ECs- some clubs, honor societies, volunteer (~300 hrs)
- hospital work during summers
- small leadership position
I don't have strong activities/leadership positions.
My rec letters are going to be mediocre, since I go to a big school,
and I am not very close to my teachers. so, what do you think ?
Also, can you recommend some schools for me? (match, safety, reach)

Thank you !!!!

pull up that 660 CR for cornell

I think EC would need a bit more work. Try and work out some leadership positions.

Your grades are fine, but that SAT is a little lacking. However, people with worse do get in. Cornell's acceptance is that bad (25%) I'd put it as a low reach if you show extreme interest in the school and put a lot of effort into your application

Leadership positions are important. Do you have any or could you get any in the clubs you are in?

Your recommendation letters don't have to be mediocre. If you focused on getting to know a few of your teachers better (especially if they are an advisor to a club that you are in or something), you could get some decent letters.

If you an study and pull up your 660 in CR though--that would be a good thing. If you could pull it up 30 or 40 points, you'd be in a better place. Your math is great though! APs and SAT II Chem look solid. (what did you get on the one AP test you've already taken?)
