Second, i would like to say that this is my first time doing this and that I was not considering Penn as an option until today[ i dont think I am good enough to get in] but I will be applying RD for COMMUNICATION. So if you could take the time to look at my credentials i would greatly appreciate it.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.-honesty is the best policy-THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Your extracurriculars and academics and background are strong. However, I am worried about your ACT score. Could you possibly take the December one? If not, your essays would need to be spectacular to get in.

There is no harm in trying.

Ya, your ACT is really low. ECs are average, GPA is average. You do have URM going for you though.

I'd say you're closer on the rejection side than the acceptance side.

What's URM?

and please keep posting. I know you guys have been wanting to go to this school for a longer time than me, and know a whole lot more.
I do not want to apply and waste my $ just for the heck of it. I want to have a actual chance[though everyone who applies has a chance] but you gys understand.

thanks: _____ and Sprind23

Under represented minority. You should obviously apply if you want a shot at getting in -- no one is 100% guaranteed, but bringing up your ACT would definitely help.

"______" Doesn't know what he is talking about.

What's your opinion[about my chances] sadface?

my friend, your application would be very strong with truly well-written essays and powerful recommendations.

but here's some advice.

considering you're applying RD, i'd suggest you retake your act. that is essential. even a few points boost on the composite can make you much more competitive than right now. buy a book. study. do good. you can do it.

"the prophet"- here is my problem. if there was a need for a photograph to put next to the word-bas test taker- i am pretty sure that they would select me. my first act i got a 23 composite. [that was in june]. after an intensive summer of studying and studying and studiying. i was able to raise it 5pts to get to my now 28. i highly doubt that taking it again will make things better. which means, that i need to work my butt off on the essays. i am a pretty good writer. all i need is time-which i have-

i have 2 ?s though. The app. is due Jan 1. but since i just decided to apply to penn. i did not register for the sat's. the next come jan. 24. i want to take a world language subject test, since is strongly recommended for those applying to the college. do you guys think that they will be okay with me sending it in that late. and i was thinking spanish for the test, since that's what i speak. do you guys think that they wont like that?

THANKSSSSSSSSSS AND KEEP POSTINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

It's going to come down to your essays, i know a URM who got into UPENN WHARTON with a 28 during RD.... it comes to ur essays man

I know that my URM status is my best friend right now. I bet there are not many Dominican immigrants at Penn right now. You mentioned Wharton, but how about CAS. do you think i can make djperez?

*If anyone else has the answer, go for it!

yeah Wharton's acceptance rate is about 10%.... CAS is about 25%... so if he got into wharton with a 28, he would of obviously got into CAS.... im hispanic too and im applying to Wharton

^^
CAS's acceptance rate is definitely not 25%, more like 13%

its nowhere near Wharton's
