Chances please!!

<p>I was recently rejected from Stanford EA, and I was wondering about my chances of getting into Caltech.</p>

<p>I have a 4.00 GPA unweighted and 4.45 weighted.
I'm number 3 in my class of about 500.
SAT Scores 800 Math, 760 Reading, 750 Writing.
SATII Scores 800 Math II, 800 Chem, 790 Bio.
ACT: 36 Math, 36 Science, 33 Writing w/ 7 on the essay, 35 Reading (35 composite)
My curriculum is pretty hard I guess. I've taken 11 AP so far (with 5's on 10 of the exams) and am taking 7 this year. I'm a National AP Scholar, and I just got the Siemen's Award.
I'm a National Merit Semi finalist, PSAT = 232.
I run Track and Cross Country, but I didn't win any awards.
I'm president of National Honor Society.
I have over 500 hours of community service total.
I'm in clubs like mathlete and quizbowl.
I play A LOT of Ultimate Frisbee. I'm co-captain of the school's ultimate club.</p>

<p>My essays are probably mediocre (i m not a very good writer, enough to get a 5 on the English AP exam, but thats about it) and my Extra Curriculars aren't at all amazing. :(</p>

<p>Are you passionate about math/science?</p>

<p>Is it something that you want to pursue for the rest of your life?</p>

<p>And how does this come through on your application? Does it?</p>

<p>I love math and science.
I have a pretty big list of math and science awards I've won.
One of my essays talk about how I developed my science interest. I talked about how I loved to take things apart when I was young and how that interest moved into science fair and my high school curriculum.</p>

<p>Your stats are pretty similiar to my son, who was admitted regular decision last year. You have more APs. he had more extra curriculars, with awards; you have Siemen's Award, he had excellent essays. I would guess you have a good shot, but I'm not making the decisions. I'm guessing if your passion for math and science comes through in your essays, they may be better for Caltech purposes than they were for other schools.</p>
