<p>Thanks to anyone who replies. I'm applying to CAS as a psychology major.</p>

<p>Large, pretty competitive public high school in CT
GPA: 3.92 UW 4.3 W Rank: 7/620
SATs: CR 730, M 700, W 800
SAT IIs: Literature 730, Spanish 710
Two great recommendations, writing is kind of my strength so I'm cautiously optimistic about my essays.
10 Honors and 6 AP classes through high school</p>

<p>Classes this year: AP Psych, AP Spanish 6, AP Stat, AP Government and Politics, UCONN English (similar to AP English, but sponsored by UCONN), Advanced Journalism, and Social Psychology</p>

School Literary magazine (Co-editor 11-12, also had work published in it)
NHS (Treasurer 12)
Debate Club (10, VP 11, President 12)
National Art Honor Society (10,11,12)
Young Democrats Club (11,12)
Various political volunteering, also some charity work through NHS and NAHS
Figure Drawing classes at local art center (10,11,12)
Paid work as a Babe Ruth Baseball Umpire 2005-present
I went to a live-in one-week journalism seminar at Columbia University this past Summer.</p>

Made top 8% in national essay contest
Vassar College Book Award for Excellence in the Humanities
Citizen Scholar Award
Nat'l Merit Commendation, and then some other meaningless academic awards</p>

<p>I'd say you have a pretty good shot. Any major in CAS would require lots of writing so it's good that writing seems to be one of your strengths. good luck</p>

but i'm so jealous of you! you can be number 7 with a 4.3? i know a girl with a 4.3 at my school and she is number twenty something. and my school is nothing special, i just have a freaky class that includes a spelling bee champ/teen jeapardy champ and oodles of other unbelievably scary smart people.
gah!</p>
