Dear starsfromhere, Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? What your ec’s like? Last year my s applied with a weighted GPA of 3.5 and a 1870 GPA and a 29 act- he was offered a satellite campus or to do LEAP.( a freshman summer program) At first he hated the thought of giving up his summer to go to school but he wanted PSU so badly that he went. He is there now and loves it. He has made a great group of friends and said the whole experience has been a very good one. So if you relly want UP put down on the application that you would be willing to do LEAP. Good Luck

Thank you! I definitely will put down that I would do the summer session. My ec’s are very good, and I think my GPA is weighted, but I’m not sure- my school only said it was cumulative. :? Thanks for the advice, one question- how early does the summer session start?

Is 1220 CR + M / 1940 Overall SAT + 3.9-4.0 Weighted GPA a good shot at UP? I guess I would be willing to put down LEAP, but I would definitely prefer to start in fall.

You could start your own thread, you might get a better response.

Dear starsfromhere,
The Leap session this yesr had you checking into your dorms on June 28 with actual classes starting on July 1. Ask your school guidance dept if that 3.43 is weighted or not because that will make a difference. Also my sons last day of LEAP is 8/14 with classes for the fall resuming on 8/24 . Also get your application in as early as possible.

I think you would be offered admission for Fall, but put summer just in case. Two years ago I got in with 4.0 weighted and 1100 or 1660 into engineering (aerospace engineering major). So you definitely have a good chance. The trick is to make sure your transcript show your weighted gpa. It will help a lot.

Anyone else chance me?

Stars- You should be okay, put down summer just to be safe.

sasquatch- You will be fine for fall. Great GPA and SATs for UP. I’d be willing to bet you would get some $, especially if you are in state.

sasquatch - Oh yea, you’ll get some money because I got some.

Don’t think will necessarily get money. I had higher stats, 4.0, 1960 SAT & no money.
